Above 25 years is  the legal age, however for citizans residing in Wardha District age limit is 30 years for drinking sprits or hard liquor such as Whisky, Rum, Gin, Vodka, Scotch etc. For Drinking of Mild Beer legal age is above 21 yeras.

As per provisions under Rule No. 70 D (1) of Mumbai Foreign Liquor Rule,1953 age for obtaning license is above 25 Years. Permit for purchase, possession, transport, use and consumption of foreign liquor and country liquor is issued by Officer  above the rank of  Sub-Inspector, State Excise   in the form      F.L.X-C.  Limits for possesstion , use, transport and consumption as per provisions is 12 units of foreign liquor OR  2 units of country liquor  per month (1000 ml bottle is one unit) . You can apply online and can obtain permit for possetion and comsumption by availing online excise services

Alcohol Permits

In Maharashtra, you must be at least 25 years old (30 years old in Wardha District) to possess or consume alcohol. You must also have a permit issued by the State Excise Department. (This is issued in the format F.L.X-C.) You can apply for a permit in person at a local State Excise office or online through the Aaple Sarkar (आपले सरकार) Portal. (Click here to apply for Online Permit)

Warning :- If you are caught possessing or consuming alcohol without a permit, you could be prosecuted under the Maharashtra Prohibition Act, 1949. The punishment for a first offense is up to 6 months in jail and a fine of up to ₹10,000.

The permit is valid for 1 year (₹100 fee) or for life (₹1000 fee). To apply for a permit, you will need to provide the following documents:

  • A passport-size photo
  • Your signature
  • A copy of your identity proof  & address proof (Aadhaar card, passport, voter ID, PAN card, or driving license)

As provided in by rule number 3 of The Maharashtra Manufacture of Beer and Wine Rule, 1966. 

1. Apply to collectore in the prescribed format  BRL A  

2. Submit hard copy of application along with all relevant document mentioned on website.

3.If applicant satisfy all requirment of the license , Collectore will grant him license in form BRL

4. Get your lebal approval from collectore

Manufacture wine by following prescribed procedure and sell to wholesell licensee having a license in the foem FL-1 of Any Pperson desiring to open Winaery shall apply to Collectore (Earlier power to grant winery license in the form BRL was with Goverment , but after amendment of a license for the
